I just returned from the groundbreaking ceremony for the Reynolds Institute. Elson Floyd, Brady Deaton, and all the other MU bigwigs were there, along with donors, alumni, politicians, etc. Some of the speeches were actually pretty decent. I think this institute will have a profound effect on Journalism and its place in democracy...one can only hope.

Also, I was the first student to shovel dirt!
