4/12/2005 12:34:00 PM|||Jonthon||| At 5:30pm this evening, my marketing group met in College Park to brew our root beer and record the production process. We contacted Cable Access Television to request a production crew earlier in the week, and our professor's wife agreed to film our brewing. Because of that, our professor decided to attend as well. We told him that he was invited, but that it was BYOB.
We met in the apartment of my friend Chris Detrick, a master brewer. We cleaned the kitchen, boiled the water, made our wart, and capped off a still full of our home brew. Throughout all of this, Chris narrated, and also got continually drunker. Having set himself up as an expert in the beginning, he slowly progressed to the point of not being able to form very coherent sentences. It was hilarious. Our professor was getting pretty drunk too, which was even better. Eventually, we ran out of beer, and our professor gave us $20 to go get more. We drank Trippel, wheat dog, and other quality microbrews all night, though I stayed relatively sober as I was working the entire time. Throughout the night, the room smelled wonderful. Our brew smelled *really* good, and I will be anxious to see how it turns out after 10 days of fermenting in a bucket. Next up, we have to write a social audit, detailing the economic and environmental impact of our efforts. After that, we're DONE!|||111393102512186388|||Brewing/Prof Hunt beer/$20
